Stop Formalde-hyding From the Truth
Formaldehyde was officially put on the list of carcinogens, or cancer-causing chemicals a few years ago. Since then the beauty industry has made a major push for clean, formaldehyde-free products. We are happy to be a part of that initiative asall of Borby’s adhesives always have been and always will be formaldehyde-free.
A misconception is that formaldehyde is still in lash adhesives. Borboleta’s safe eyelash extension adhesive goes through thorough testing and purification to make sure it is in its purest form for clients’ use. Formaldehyde is a reactant (ingredient) used to make cyanoacrylate. After cyanoacrylate is formed, the adhesive is purified through a process known as chromatography to get rid of excess reactant (formaldehyde). This process purifies the eyelash adhesive and makes it safe for client use. After this process there are only trace amounts left. This is true for all brands due to physical limitations.
Wait, didn’t I just say that our products are formaldehyde-free? Then what about these trace amounts? Trace amounts means the quantity left over is so small that even the most sophisticated scientific instruments don’t have the capacity to measure the amount; they can only tell that there is a tiny amount there. Imagine one salt crystal mixed in with the sand on a beach. It’s that insignificant. Because this amount is so small and safe, it is considered formaldehyde-free eyelash glue.
We make sure all of our products are the safest on the market only containing essential ingredients. This helps mitigate allergies and irritations. Drop a comment if you have any questions.
